Oxidation of thick oil layer is generally more common in the oxidation of lubricating oil such as oil tanks and oil pipelines. Because the oil layer is thicker, the oxidation rate of the entire oil layer is slower, and the oxidation depth is correspondingly lower. Oxidation in places like the cylinder wall and bearing surface belongs to the oxidation of thin oil layers, and its oxidation speed and depth are much greater than those of thick oil layers.
When the lubricating oil flows in the engine, some lubricating oil will remain on the cylinder liner, and the temperature of up to several hundred degrees will cause the light fractions in the lubricating oil to be vaporized and the heavy fractions to be oxidized. The macromolecular components generated by oxidation are mixed with the fuel components in the engine and then enter the oil sump from the piston ring, which will increase the oxidation rate of the lubricating oil.

1. After the lubricating oil is oxidized, it will produce acidic substances, which will corrode the metal parts of the machine.
2. After the lubricating oil is oxidized, insoluble deposits will be formed, which will easily block the oil circuit and oil filter pipeline, greatly reduce the circulation efficiency of the lubricating oil, accelerate the wear of the machine, and even cause mechanical failure due to the loss of lubrication and cooling.
3. Oxidation will change the appearance and chemical properties of the lubricating oil, causing problems such as darker color, increased viscosity, and increased acidity.
